Percy Jackson & The Olympians

Breathtaking, can’t-put-it-down and adventure-filled best-selling anthology packed with a splendid cast of characters, uncontrollable thrill-ride and creatively depicted backdrops that make a masterpiece of extraordinary enormity. Percy Jackson & the Last Olympian is the best collection that you will love reading again and again as it promises to bore not a second of your time once you begin flipping through the pages.

Meet Percy Jackson, the 12-year-old boy, whose expulsion from yet another school for an inexplicable incident finally uncovers the truth of who he is and what he is capable of doing. Surprisingly, he is a demigod, half-human and half immortal, and not just a typical demigod but one of the most powerful of his kind alive. His mother Sally is human and his father is not just Mr. Whoever God, but the ruler of the sea, the Greek god Poseidon. His death-defying journey to Camp Half-Blood opens his eyes to the truth and the tremendous challenges waiting for him upfront. Now, after a short stay and a little training in the Camp, he will embark on his first quest to find the stolen lightning bolt of Zeus. Together with Grover Underwood, a satyr, and Annabeth Chase, daughter of Athena, he will traverse the Underworld to find and retrieve the bolt to prevent a war among the Olympian gods. Will he be able to finish and succeed in the mission without himself and the others killed? You can begin your own adventure with Percy through this first book!
After the overwhelming quest to find Zeus’ stolen lightning bolt, which could have sparked off an Olympian war, Percy Jackson seems to find a reprieve from all the catastrophes related to Olympus and Camp Half-Blood. But except for the influx of Tyson, his new mentally challenged, homeless, six-footer kid friend, everything appears to be in place. But just as he thought everything is fine, Camp Half-Blood is in great danger of possible invasion if they would not be able to save the magical border from being poisoned by a devious foe. The only thing that can save the Camp is the Golden Fleece, but they have to retrieve it from the Island of the Cyclopes. Before anything else, Percy must first save Grover from the prison of Polyphemus, a Cyclopes on the island in the Sea of Monsters. Soon, Percy—with Grover, Annabeth and Tyson—will race against time before the end of summer arrives, or else Camp Half-Blood will be ruined. But more than the adrenaline-pumping quest, Percy will uncover another surprising family secret.
More exciting characters are introduced in this volume and as interesting and intriguing as these characters are the terrifying events that they are about to face. The Goddess Artemis is missing and they believe she has been kidnapped. Now, Percy and his friends will set off on a new mission to find her before the winter solstice, when she becomes influential on the Olympian Council in relation to the war with the titans. Alongside this quest, Percy and his friends will experience different encounters that truly bring surprises and awe. But will this mission be a success without losing one of his friends along the way? This volume is jam-packed with heart-stopping action, stunning adventures and jaw-dropping challenges that will truly put the demigods’ powers on the edge—unbelievable tests but are truly exciting. It will leave you craving for more of their quests and incredible challenges!
Camp Half-Blood is in great menace. Luke Castellan, the son of Hermes tricked by the Titan Kronos into hosting his spirit, is devising an invasion. Now, it is up to Percy if he could find the Labyrinth, which is believed to be designed by Daedalus, that Luke will use to lead his army straight into the heart of the Camp. But it is not as simple as you think. The entrance is not easy to find and Percy has to make it on time before Luke gets Ariadne’s string, otherwise, everyone on Camp is doomed. Percy can’t make it alone. The Labyrinth is treacherous, enchanting and devious all at once. He will face some ordeals and must triumph against it and even Grover’s Panic that comes in handy to scare the enemy away is not enough. Life must be sacrificed to end Luke’s game plan.
The battle between half-bloods and monsters will soon take Manhattan by surprise as the final installment of Percy Jackson & the Last Olympian series unfolds. The long preparation of the half-bloods for the battle against the Titans cannot guarantee their success. Kronos is stronger than ever with every god and half-bloods that he swayed to his side. In this concluding volume, what was foretold of Percy’s sixteenth birthday will surprisingly unravel. And as the clash between Percy’s side and Kronos’ army begins, Percy deals with a petrifying thought that this battle could end his life.
What I love about this collection are the inexhaustible adventures that never failed to surprise me at every turn of the page. Rick Riordan is truly a genius and I am so impressed at how the characters come to life and how these masterpieces captivated me all throughout without me knowing I was already finished. At the end of the series, I realized that I wanted for more—more of those thrilling adventures, more of those exciting places, more of those marvelous characters, more of that mythological knowledge, and more of that unforgettable fun only Rick Riordan’s writing can make possible.

A Torch Against the Night

“Your emotions make you human, Elias said to me weeks ago in the Serran Range. Even the unpleasant ones have a purpose. If you ignore them, they just get louder and angrier.” Although this book is a best-seller, I cannot say that this is a can’t-put-it-down read because it took me several weeks to finish flipping on its pages. To be honest, it was a tedious start. But as the story built up, it brought me to different places and introduced me to other interesting characters. I found it a good read. At times, it was a breathtaking feat following Elias and Laia on their journey as they run for their lives. I was thrilled while racing with them away from the Martial soldiers who hunt them and consider them fugitives of the Empire. The long and menacing expedition required me some deep breaths, but I was enamored by Laia’s bravery to defy and fight the enemies in order to save her brother—who is believed to be the key to the Scholars’ survival—from the treacherous prison. And Elias, ...

The Name of the Wind

This is a good tale—a chronicle of my travels and adventures with Kvothe, the legendary hero who has stolen princesses, talked to Gods, loved women, and written songs that make the minstrels weep. The saga of Kvothe awakened my passion that had become quiescent for more than a decade—my zest to reading. When I met him, he enchanted me with his unique wit, cunning thoughts, and most of all, his sympathy and powerful binding techniques. Eventually, he detained me in Patrick Rothfuss’ magical pages. As I begin my journey with this charming and spirited character, I uncovered that every leaf of The Name of the Wind eagerly breaks the monotony of the books of the same genre. It is all-encompassing—a distinctively outlined portrayal of life’s parable and family relationship, of travel adventures and personal wanderlust, of friendship and fleeting acquaintances, of en route impediments and life-altering circumstances, of grief face due to loss and power of emancipation, of a que...

Finnikin of the Rock

Truly, you cannot become an award-winning author if you could not write an exceptional tale. And it takes one phenomenal Melina Marchetta to weave a fiercely captivating epic fantasy of ancient magic, heart-wrenching exile, feudal intrigue, and exciting romance that powerfully enchants the readers. Finnikin of the Rock  is one of the spectacular books that I have read so far. Reading it the first time is compelling, but reading it the second time is absolutely enchanting. Loving the characters is spur-of-the-moment for they are terrifically adorable, interesting and charismatic. How Marchetta developed her characters was remarkable. How she embellished her settings was magnificent. How she outlined her plot was absolutely magical—a mystery yet to be unraveled.  And how she exquisitely splattered on it the twists and turns of events was definitely remarkable. Unquestionably, I relished the unforgettable journey I had with Finnikin and Evanjalin along with the other ...
